Challenges
Calibrators had to be fed in two parallel lanes from trays. Any gaps occurring during infeed needed to be automatically closed. Depending on the carton size, calibrators had to be fed either standing or lying. The system required an autonomy time of twelve minutes and stable performance across varying product orientations.
Our Solution
We developed a transport system for tray stacks that separates the trays and transfers them with high precision onto a dual-lane indexing chain. Two transfer units equipped with spreading grippers handle the controlled removal and alignment of the calibrators. An optional swiveling module enables processing in either standing or horizontal orientation. The gap-compensation control ensures a stable product flow even during tray changes. Tray stacks can be provided in different lengths to achieve the required autonomy time.
Special Features
The dual-lane infeed with spreading grippers enables high speeds while maintaining stable product positioning. The combination of alignment, gap compensation, and transfer functionality provides a robust solution for various packaging configurations. The modular structure allows adaptation to different tray formats and future performance requirements.
