Blister Infeed from Shoe Boxes

Challenges

Blister trays were delivered in shoe boxes with 20 layers, distributed across two levels with significant positional tolerances. The handling system needed to compensate for these tolerances through sensing and ensure stable picking and transfer to the downstream sealing process.

Our Solution

Shoe boxes are supplied in trolleys with four compartments. A portal system unloads the boxes from the trolley. A robot removes the individual blister trays from the shoe box and loads them into the sealing system. The gripper concept and sensing strategy compensate for the positional variations within each layer.

Special Features

The combination of portal and robot handling enables reliable processing of tray layers with significant variation. The solution provides high autonomy through trolley loading and ensures consistent, precise infeed to downstream processes. The modular architecture allows future expansion to additional formats.

Processes

  • Blister Handling

    Blister Handling

The blister handling system opens shippers and white boxes, removes complete stacks of blisters, and feeds up to 150 blisters per minute in a controlled manner onto a cycle chain. It can be flexibly adapted to different formats and processes.

  • Palettizer

    Palettizer

Our palletizing platform is suitable for syringes, vials, pens, and many other products. It offers precise handling, high process stability, and flexible customization options.
