Assembly cell for autoinjectors in clinical production

In response to growing demand for flexible and rapidly deployable solutions in autoinjector production, we have developed a new assembly cell for clinical trials and small-scale production runs.

The basic version is designed for YpsoMate autoinjectors but can be adapted for use with other platforms, such as Molly from SHL Medical.

Rather than prioritizing maximum performance, the focus is deliberately on controlled joining processes, quick format changes, and a compact design. This makes the cell particularly well-suited for early production phases, where flexibility, process reliability, and data integrity are critical.

A key feature is its high mobility:
The cell is built in the format of a Euro pallet (approx. 800 x 1200 mm), is fully servo-electric, and requires no compressed air. Initial commissioning takes place as part of the qualification and validation process at the customer’s site.
After the initial Q&V, relocation and recommissioning can be performed with minimal effort.

Key characteristics:

  • Parallel loading and assembly for consistent cycle times
  • Central measurement unit reduces hardware and calibration requirements
  • Fully servo-electric design without pneumatics
  • Software-guided, easy format changeover
  • Compact design (< 1 m²), suitable for existing cleanroom layouts
  • Force and Displacement Monitoring in Critical Joining Processes
  • Integrated process control and data collection in accordance with GxP

The capacity is up to 5 parts per minute.

This development is in line with our approach of refining proven principles in a targeted manner and tailoring them to the requirements of regulated production environments—with a focus on robustness, ease of use, and quick commissioning.

We would be happy to provide you with a detailed overview of the system’s design, structure, and potential applications.
